Mobile TVs
Mobile TV is a type of service for subscribers to access mobile telecommunication networks. This new technology was first introduced by South Korea, and BT in the United Kingdom was the first firm outside Korea to implement mobile TVs. Some carriers even offer you free mobile TV for a one week trial period just to get you to subscribe to their services.
Mobile TVs can also refer to portable TVs. A portable TV contains many of the same features like televisions, only that it can be easily carried and used outdoors. Different consumers may have different views on what comprises a portable or mobile satellite TV, but in general, it is just a smaller television set which is usually less than 13 inches in screen size, complete with handles or resistant casings. Some mobile TVs still use the cathode ray tube technology found in most televisions, while the latest models already utilize liquid crystal display or LCD on a flat screen.
The earliest portable television models were available in small black & white television sets that were kept in the kitchen or bedroom. It was powered by a standard household outlet that actually defeats the purpose of being portable. It was only in the late 1970s to the early 1980s that battery-powered televisions were introduced.
By the late 1980s, Sony and Casio produced the first batch of the pocket-sized portable TV. You can carry these mobile television units anywhere you go. They also function as radios, with small headphone sets to give you more listening privacy. The mobile TVs of today are mostly developed with LCD screen technology. A portable LCD TV showcases vibrant colors with the inclusion of red, green and yellow pixels. The portable color TV today can endure rough handling, and if you need international reception, portable satellite TV is now available. An example of a good mobile TV is the Curtis 7 widescreen LCD portable TV, which features the most advanced technology for portable TVs.
Nowadays, it’s not impossible to watch your favorite shows from a mobile TV that’s just the size of a telephone. All you need is a mobile TV antenna, and there are many types of antennas you can use, such as the boomerang mobile TV antenna, UHF antenna spec for mobile TV or just any ordinary antenna for mobile TV reception. There are many stores and web sites where you can find a cheap boomerang TV antenna for mobile reception.
