Line Drivers
A line driver is a type of signal processor that is designed to improve your line-out voltage for enhanced, clearer sound. In lay man’s terms, it only means that the output signal which is sent to the amplifier is increased. Actually, it can be used not only for car audio but for all stereo systems as well.
Line drivers differ in output electrical impedance or electrical resistance. The higher the resistance, the higher signal it can transmit through a longer cable without degradation. One of the functions of line drivers is to reduce any unwanted signal noise, and this will in turn improve the dynamic range. These little mechanisms called line drivers can really contribute to the loudness of your system. If you want to get more from your car amplifiers and get a more balanced system, you should increase the preamp level signal.
There are a lot of line drivers available in the market. Each has varied ohm measurements that can transmit higher decibels. A 600 ohm line driver can be found all over the internet. Some models of this type of line drivers are the Zeus single ended MOSFET preamp line driver, Louroe AMT/R-600 line driver/receiver and others. Phoenix Gold line drivers would probably be the best for your car audio system.
Matrix line drivers are also popular in combining multi-media and video games or just for boosting your car amplifiers. Like video, it has multiple sources so it matches the various volume levels of your audio system. Two input channels can drive six outputs and each output can power up to seven car amplifiers. There’s also the Kove KA-6 line driver which is a competition distribution pre-amplifier that controls up to 18 separate amplifiers with only one master gain. It is a must for all competition or multi-amplifier systems with its 15 volts of outputs.
On the other hand, there are the Extron line drivers. These kinds of drivers enable long distance connections from the source to its destination. These are used to preserve mostly video quality over video signals. These line drivers provide adjustable inconsistent gain control to enhance signals.
You can also find a line driver 50 ohm capacity from several websites.
For more line driver info, log on to the internet and start searching through your favorite websites. If you’d like to find the best deals for line drivers, you may want to visit an online shop which stocks a wide range of line drivers.
