Speaker Wire
A speaker wire is used to connect your car’s loudspeakers to your car audio amplifiers. A modern speaker wire may be comprised of two electrical conductors that are insulated separately by plastic. These two conductors are classified as negative and positive conductors.
Speaker wires feature three parameters that determine its performance, and they are resistance, capacitance, and the inductance. The best speaker wire would have none of that. What does it mean? Simply speaking, a perfect speaker wiring should have no resistance, no capacitance as well as no inductance, because these are negative factors that prevent the smooth delivery of electrical forces which are to be translated as audio output. A shorter speaker wire will have less resistance, capacitance, and inductance, and therefore, you should try to get a short speaker wire for the perfect audio performance.
The material of a speaker wire is usually just for convenience or aesthetic purposes. Generally, it is better to buy wires with hundreds or thousands of wires just so that it will not break so easily. Otherwise, it depends on your personal preferences what shape and size of wire you wish to get. Some people actually prefer a flat speaker wire just because it can be easily hidden due to its thinness. It is perfect for hiding under your carpets. However, some people would prefer a wire with better jacketing that is usually thicker or tougher. These wires are less likely to tangle and they are absolutely more durable.
The attributes that are important for a no-resistance speaker wire is the length, the gauge, and the conducting material it uses. It is recommended to use shorter lengths and larger wires to achieve low resistance. You should also keep your speaker wires away from heavy current circuits and grounded surfaces to minimize resistance. For wire material, copper will be ideal because of its low resistance. Other conductor materials are aluminum oxidize, silver, and gold.
In choosing speaker wire, it is important that you do some research on the internet first before anything else. You will find a lot of information about speaker wire connections, speaker wiring diagram applications, bulk speaker wire options and others. From there, you will get a better idea what kind of wiring best suits your requirements, whether it’s a 12 gauge speaker wire or a speaker wire bulk.
There are also various car-specific wires available, such as the Stinger speaker wire, 1992 Honda Accord speaker wiring, Silverado speaker wires and Silverado wire harness. There are also wiring diagrams available for specific makes of cars, such as a Ford Aerostar speaker wire diagram or a Mitsubishi Eclipse wiring diagram.
